Chris Christie didn’t hold back in his criticism of his fellow presidential contender, Vivek Ramaswamy, a political newcomer with substantial wealth who has been making a splash in the GOP primary. During an interview on Fox News, Christie took evident pleasure in highlighting Ramaswamy’s apparent inconsistency during the previous night’s Republican debate.

“When he was attacking me about telling the truth about Donald Trump, in his own book he said that what Donald Trump did on Jan. 6 was ‘reprehensible, plain and simple’—direct quote from the book,” Christie told host Neil Cavuto. “And when I confronted him with that last night, he said, ‘I never said that.’ No you didn’t, you wrote it. Or the ghostwriter who wrote your book wrote it.”

Cavuto supported Christie’s assertion, confirming, “I did check his book and you were right about that, he said exactly that.”

Ramaswamy’s maneuvers to win over supporters of Donald Trump have been evident, as he referred to the now-indicted former president as the “best president of the 21st century” during the debate held on Wednesday.
